from the poetry book ‘Images of Life’
I wrote this poem to try to address world peace and the need for conflicting nation to work out their differences to compromise and mutual understanding rather than going to war or armed conflict that has cost millions of innocent lives in countless wars.
Man to Man
man to man
at the table
closed debating,
arbitrating
ready, willing, able
eye to eye
resolve resistance
of competing races
sharing spaces
seeking co-existence
face to face
for counteractions
to duel disparity
with solidarity
while fighting factions
defeat disruption
face to face
eye to eye
man to man
…or face destruction
