from the poetry book ‘Images of Life’
In your lifetime, you may lose a true love through, a breakup, a divorce, and even death. It can leave you broken hearted and often feeling that you can never love again. I wrote this poem to remind everyone that after the grieving has subsided, life goes one and you can find ‘a new beginning’ in a new love and rekindle the feelings you thought were lost forever.
A New Beginning
out of the darkness, your radiant light,
rose above trinkets, provided me sight.
out of despair, your vision of hope,
sprung amongst sorrow, allowed me to cope.
out of the emptiness, your outward pour,
Tossed ‘side resistance, restored my core.
out of the anger, your clairvoyant path,
led to acceptance, sheltered my wrath.
out of the past, a transient state,
craved a new beginning,
and then, I sought you.
out of depression, your presence about,
cleared indecision, pardoned all doubt.
out of the turmoil, your steadfast arm,
embraced my fears, quieted the storm.
out of the sorrow, your mutual weep,
signified patience, comforted my sleep.
out of my longing, your torrid fire,
sufficed all passion, appeased my desire.
into the future, a transient state,
found a new beginning,
and now, there is You.
